IES What Works Clearinghouse: The WWC was established in 2002 by the Institute of Education and Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education to provide educators, policymakers, researchers, and the public with a central and trusted source of scientific evidence about "what works" in education.
 
International Reading Association: IRA was founded in 1956 as a nonprofit professional organization for those involved in teaching reading to learners of all ages.
 
U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission: The purpose of this site is to establish separate and distinct teaching units on nuclear-related subjects that can be taught in the classroom. And, in some instances, the instructional units can be modified to be taught by teachers with varying degrees of knowledge in this subject area.
 
AFT:  The American Federation of Teachers was founded in 1916 to represent the economic, social and professional interests of classroom teachers.  It is an affiliated international union of the AFL-CIO.

PBS Teachers: What an awesome job! PBS offers teachers free multi-media resources for the classroom. Choose your subject and your grade from K-12. Utilize lessons, worksheets, interactive games, video, and more!

National Science Foundation: A diverse collection of lessons and web resources for classroom teachers, their students, and students' families. Materials are arranged by subject area to help you quickly find resources in your interest area, and then use them to create lesson plans or at-home activities.

Whitehousekids.gov is an educational opportunity for young Americans to learn about the White House and the President through fun and exciting features. This guide gives teachers ideas on how to use the site in the classroom and parents ideas on topics to discuss with their children as they navigate through the site. The themes of reading, making good choices (such as going to school) and dreaming about the future are woven into the site's content through the personification of the President's pets and animals.
